FRANKLIN

City Hall will remain closed on Thursday, Aug. 22, according to information just provided by Sgt. Scott Halverson of the Franklin City Police Department. City departments and services not located in the municipal building will be operating under normal hours other than Social Services, which will be manning the shelter located at Franklin High School.

Power and Light crews are working hard to restore power to all customers. Crews have called in for help from Danville and Martinsville, and had Community Electric already provide assistance last night. We also have Franklin Public Works personnel cleaning up debris in heavily damaged areas to clear roadways and city property. Community Development is working on initial damage assessment totals. Social Services and Red Cross are preparing to open the shelter at Franklin High School.

Halverson added that the Franklin Police will continue to answer calls for service and has increased staffing for patrols in power outage areas. The city fire department is also answering calls for service and assisting other departments with needs as they can.
