IWA track goes to VISAA championships

IWA sent seven competitors to the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 16 at St. Christopher’s School.

Charger runners ran 10 races and each set at least one personal record.

Eighth-grader Hannah Edwards was the top finisher with two 11th place finishes in the 300m dash and 1600m run.

Among boys finishers, Michael Laskey finished 19th in the 3200m run. In the 1,600m run, IWA had three finishers: Jack Powell finished 18th; Lucas Baylous, 27th; Laskey finished 28th.

Logan Baylous finished 35th in the 500m dash and 41st in the 55m dash. Powell finished 35th in the 300m dash.
