Public schools in the city of Franklin, and counties of Southampton and Isle of Wight will be closed on Wednesday because of the inclement weather predicted.
The announcements came from Kelvin Edwards, deputy superintendent; Dr. Gwendolyn Shannon, superintendent for Southampton; and Lynn Briggs, spokeswoman for Isle of Wight, respectively.
