Cover 3 Foundation announces summer meals schedule

The Cover 3 Foundation, headquartered in Franklin, announced recently that it is participating in the Summer Food Service Program, which will provide meals to eligible children during the summer months free of charge.

To be eligible to receive free meals at a residential or nonresidential camp, a child’s family must meet the income guidelines for reduced-price meals in the National School Lunch Program. Children who are part of households that receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits (SNAP – formerly known as food stamps), receive benefits under the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families are automatically eligible to receive free meals. Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.

Meals will be provided at the following sites on a first-come, first-serve basis as follows:

• Agape Counseling, 106 W. Fifth St., Franklin. Breakfast will be served from 9 to 9:30 a.m. and lunch from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. June 20 through Aug. 30.

• Apple Tree Learning Center, 601 W. Washington St., Suffolk. Breakfast will be served from 8:45 to 9:15 a.m. and lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 19 through Sept. 1.

• Aquilla & Priscilla Ministries, 22173 General Thomas Highway, Newsoms. Breakfast will be served from 9 to 10 a.m. and lunch from noon to 1 p.m. June 19 through Sept. 1.

• Camp Arrowhead, 275 Kenyon Road, Suffolk. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and an afternoon snack from 3 to 4 p.m. June 19 through Aug. 25.

• First Baptist Church, 318 Hall St., Franklin. Breakfast will be served from 9 to 10 a.m. and lunch from noon to 1 p.m. June 19 through Sept. 1.

• James L. Camp YMCA, 300 Crescent Drive, Franklin. Lunch will be served from noon to 1 p.m. and an afternoon snack from 3 to 3:30 p.m. June 19 through Sept. 1.

• Southampton Middle School, 23450 Southampton Pkwy., Courtland. Breakfast will be served from 7:45 to 8:15 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to noon June 19 through July 28.

• Southampton High School, 23350 Southampton Pkwy., Courtland. Lunch will be served from 3 to 4 p.m. July 10 through Sept. 1.

• Steven Woods Apartments, 25090 Oak Trail, Courtland. Lunch will be served from 11 to 12 p.m. June 19 through Aug. 31.
