The Summit by Ryan Homes is a developing 150-lot subdivision that aims to meet the significant need for affordable housing in the city of Franklin.
The Summit is located on 100 Summit View Lane and is a condominium community catering to first-time homebuyers.
RyanHomes.com/TheSummit notes that the subdivision features 1,442 square-foot, three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom townhouses that each have a one-car garage and starting prices in the low $200,000s.
Franklin-Southampton Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Teresa B. Beale noted that these townhomes are maintenance-free and offer modern features, private backyards with an included patio and open-concept floor plans.
Franklin Summit LLC owns the site and is developing it and selling the lots to Ryan Homes.
Ken Jolley, a representative of Franklin Summit, said it is great to have Ryan Homes involved in Franklin.
“They’re very excited about the project and committed to it,” he said. “They have a very aggressive schedule that they’ve put forth for delivering those homes, so they certainly see an encouraging market in Franklin.”
Franklin Mayor Robert “Bobby” Cutchins led a ribbon-cutting ceremony for The Summit by Ryan Homes on Nov. 13.
“I think it’s a great housing option for so many different people,” he said in a Tuesday, Dec. 10, interview. “It brings more affordable housing to the area. It’s a great option for all walks of life and all ages. Also the townhouse-style living provides a community-type feel where homeowners don’t have to stress as much about maintenance as normal home ownership.
“It will also bring another constant level of growth to the area with a positive impact,” he added. “Along with all of these positive impacts, it will also bring another nice curb appeal neighborhood to our community and the wonderful city of Franklin.”
Jolley confirmed The Summit officially opened Nov. 16 in terms of homes being up for sale.
He understood that 11 homes were spoken for.
“There are six completed units and six more under construction,” he said.
Concerning a move-in date for the sold and completed units, Jolley said, “The first of the year — that’s what we were told.”
