Highlights from the JV match

Kinna Magette had 5 assists and 2 kills; Jacey Bunn had 2 aces and 1 kill; and Emma McClelland had 8 assists and 4 kills.

Highlights from the Varsity match

Jamey Bunn had 8 assists; Ashlyn Edwards had 12 assists, 4 aces and 3 digs; Sarah Williams had 4 aces and 4 kills; and Emma Drake had 6 aces, 10 kills, 4 blocks and 3 digs.

I asked Emma Drake and Sarah Williams what they thought of the start of the season.

“With losing so many seniors last year and pulling up a few JV players this year, we definitely had to work together as a team on communication and how we react in game situations.

“But with this great group of athletes it didn’t take long for the hard work and detail to small situations to become wins,” said Drake, who is a junior.

“Going to Elon volleyball camp really helped form our team bond and it will only grow stronger,” said Williams, a senior.

“All of our hard work in the off season and early in the season is paying off and we have proved that with the start of our season.”
