FRANKLIN
Brent and Joan Martin of Ivor, together with Glenda and Johnny Scott Jr. and Larry Bradshaw, all of Franklin, are pleased to announce the engagement of their children, Shannon Vaughan and Douglas Bradshaw.

Shannon is the maternal granddaughter of the late Dorothy and Jesse A. Weede Jr., who lived in Franklin, and paternal granddaughter of Dorothy and Joseph A. Vaughan Sr. of Franklin.

Douglas is the maternal grandson of Beatrice and Claude Fowler Sr., and the paternal grandson of Jane and Johnny Lee Scott Sr., and the late August and Lillie Bradshaw.

Born in raised in Southampton County Shannon is a graduate of Southampton High School. She has been a private duty nurse since graduating from Southampton Memorial Hospital School of Practical Nursing in 2013.

Also a lifetime resident of the area, Doug has been working in the construction industry for nearly 10 years with five years experience with Whitehead construction.

The couple will exchange vows in an oceanfront ceremony on Saturday, June 18, 2016, with a reception to follow at the Southampton County Fairgrounds.

After a short honeymoon, the couple will reside in their cozy home in Franklin.
