FRANKLIN
Franklin, Southampton County, Southampton Academy and Isle of Wight County schools will each have two-hour delayed openings on Wednesday, Jan. 14, according to spokespersons for each school system.

“Due to the wintry weather conditions, all Isle of Wight County Schools and offices will be on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 14,” IWCS Spokesperson Kenita Bowers said on Tuesday afternoon in an email. “A message has been sent to parents and staff via the Connect 5 automated call system encouraging them to stay tuned to local news stations and the division website for the most up-to-date information regarding closings and delays.”

Chris Hooper, an assistant headmaster at Isle of Wight Academy, said a decision will be made early in the morning should a delay be necessary.
