IWA’s Edwards named Western Tidewater’s Player of the Week

ISLE OF WIGHT—Alec Edwards of the Chargers of Isle of Wight Academy is Western Tidewater’s Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 22.

On Friday night in a road matchup against Brunswick Academy in Lawrenceville, Edwards was responsible for the majority of the points and yards earned on the ground. In a game where the Chargers earned 248 yards on the ground, Edwards had 189 of them over 12 carries. In a game where IWA had 6 touchdowns, Edwards accounted for 4 of them.
He had three rushing touchdowns and one touchdown returned 80 yards following a Viking punt.
The Chargers thrashed the Vikings Friday night 40-0 in VISAA Div. 4 conference play.
