FRANKLIN—On Aug. 16, at approximately 12:39 a.m., Virginia State Police was called to a single vehicle accident. As a result of the incident, an occupant suffered life threatening injuries and died later at the hospital, said VSP Spokesperson Sgt. Michelle Anaya in a release.

The accident occurred southbound Route 258, south of Route 684, Sycamore Church Road, in Southampton County. A 2010 red, Toyota Corolla, was traveling southbound Route 258, ran off the road and struck a telephone pole. One of the vehicles occupants, Tiffany Renee Boddie, 29, of Franklin, was taken to Southampton Memorial Hospital, where she later died of her injuries. Notification has been made to family members.

State Police are actively seeking the community’s assistance for witnesses to this accident. Anyone who observed this vehicle in the Franklin, Courtland, Southampton County and Suffolk areas last night are asked to contact State Police at 562-3004.
