Courtland man arrested for Franklin burglaries

FRANKLIN—A Courtland man who was out on bond is again behind bars after being charged with burglaries committed on both Gardner and Walnut streets in Franklin.

Investigation into the residential burglaries led to the arrest of Melquan Quaimaine Hill, 23, of the 25000 block of Oak Trail in Courtland. Hill was arrested on Monday and charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of destruction of property and two counts of grand larceny for burglaries committed on the aforementioned streets, according to Capt. Tim Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police Department.

Hill was remanded to Western Tidewater Regional Jail, and is being held without bond.

Until this latest arrest, Hill was out on bond in connection with charges for burglary, robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a concealed weapon.
