ISLE OF WIGHT—Atlantic Shores scored twice in its last at-bat, beating Isle of Wight Academy 6-5 at home on Thursday.

With the Chargers leading 5-4 in the top of the seventh, IWA starter Travis Jones walked leadoff hitter Justin Towles. Trey Celata singled to right and Towles scored on an error by the rightfielder to tie the game at 5-5. Celata advanced to third on the play. Casey Turner singled to center, scoring Celata, but was cut down trying to advance for the first out of the inning. Jones wriggled out of further damage, collecting the final two outs on a pair of fly balls.

Celata, who pitched two scoreless, hitless innings in relief, earned the win. Jones suffered the loss, which dropped the Chargers to 1-4, 1-1 in the conference. They play again on Tuesday, a double-header at Portsmouth Christian.

IWA scored four of its runs on a first-inning, one-out grand slam by Jones to left field. Jones was 2-for-2 with a run scored. Reid Taylor was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
