NEWSOMS—Mr. and Mrs. Andy Vann of Newsoms announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan Ashley, to Dustin Wayne Holland.

Dustin is the son of Dennis Holland of Freeman and Lisa Merkh of Blackstone.

The bride-to-be is the maternal granddaughter of Natalie Cogsdale and the late James Cogsdale, and the paternal granddaughter of Robert and Jackie Vann, all of Newsoms.

Her future husband is the maternal grandson of Eunice Epps of Wakefield, and the late Roland Epps, and the paternal grandson of Janet Holland of Norfolk, and the late Wayne Holland.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Southampton High School and Old Dominion University, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. Megan is employed as a dental hygienist at the office of Dr. Thornton, Koontz and Spalding of Franklin and Dr. Hardy of Suffolk.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Southampton High School, and will complete his bachelor’s degree in recreation and leisure management at Virginia Wesleyan College this summer.

The wedding is planned for May 10, 2014, at Clay Hill Gardens in Yale.
