FRANKLIN—Mr. and Mrs. Russell Chandler Neal of Dinwiddie announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Coleman Neal, to Blakely Thomas Phillips, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Phillips of Franklin.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Willard N. Coleman, formerly of War-field; and of Mrs. Bettie Sue Neal of Lawrenceville, and the late Mr. Harold J. Neal Sr.
The groom-to-be is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin B. Fast of Franklin; and Mr. Thomas H. Phillips of Morriston, Fla., and the late Mrs. Daveena Phillips.
Miss Neal graduated from Dinwiddie High School in 2006, and received a B.S. in human nutrition, foods and exercise from Virginia Tech in 2010. While enrolled at Virginia Tech, she was elected chapter president of Sigma Kappa Sorority, and upon graduation served as a leadership consultant for the organization. Sarah obtained her master’s degree in occupational therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2013, and is employed at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU.
Mr. Phillips is a 2004 graduate of Southampton High School and a 2008 graduate of Longwood University, where he received a B.S. in business administration with a concentration in management. Blake lives in Richmond, and is employed with Henrico County Recreation and Parks.
A June 2014 wedding is planned.
