Kathy Copeland Larsen and Shawn Larsen of Cookeville, Tenn., announce the engagement of their daughter, Dr. Andrea Caroline Fleetwood, to Marc Trueman Smith.

The bride-to-be is also the daughter of Jocelyn and Andy Fleetwood of Kitty Hawk, N.C. She is the maternal granddaughter of Mary Copeland and Jimmie Copeland of Sedley, who are from Franklin, and paternal granddaughter of the late Pat and Dr. Joe Fleetwood, who lived in Conway, N.C.

The groom-to-be is the son of Laurie Smith and Dr. Trueman Smith of Cookeville. He is the maternal grandson of Ella and Bruce Roberts of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and the paternal grandson of Verona and Trueman Smith of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Miss Fleetwood is a 2003 graduate of Cookeville High School, and earned her bachelor and master’s degrees in education from Tennessee Tech University. She received her doctorate of education in leadership and professional practice from Trevecca Nazarene University.

Mr. Smith is a 2000 graduate of Livingston Academy, and earned his bachelor of science degree in microbiology from Tennessee Tech University. He received his master’s degree in molecular biology from Austin Peay University, and is employed at Ameritox Laboratories.

The wedding is scheduled for Saturday, July 5, 2014.
