Rose named Western Tidewater’s Player of the Week

COURTLAND—Quarterback Matt Rose of Southampton Academy is Western Tidewater’s Player of the Week for week 9 of the high school football season.

In the 48-14 road victory against Halifax Academy, Rose led the Raiders in rushing yards with 72 on 4 attempts. Two of those rushes resulted in a touchdown.
He was 6-12 passing for 69 yards and had two passing touchdowns.
Rose either passed for or ran in 4 two-point conversions. He kicked off 5 times for an average of 46 yards.
