Weihe is Western Tidewater’s Player of the Week

ISLE OF WIGHT—Josh Weihe of Isle of Wight Academy is Western Tidewater’s Player of the Week.

Isle of Wight Academy took to the road this past week and defeated the Kenston Forest Kavaliers 28-7. Isle of Wight Coach Dale Chapman told The Tidewater News that Weihe made some big plays.

In the victory, Weihe led the Chargers in rushing with 122 yards on 15 carries. He ran one in for a touchdown as well.

Defensively he had 4 first hits and 6 solo tackles.

The runner-up this week was Tonee Hill of Southampton Academy, who rushed for 92 yards on 9 carries including a touchdown. He also had a touchdown on a punt return.

The Southampton Academy Raiders defeated the Cary Christian Knights 52-0.
