Mrs. Sandra Drake Barnes of Sunbeam announces the engagement of her daughter, Jessica Sabra Barnes, to Charles Dean Keeter of Courtland.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of the late Mitchell Keith Barnes. Her maternal grandparents were the late Walter Franklin and Clarine Drake, who lived in Sunbeam, and her paternal grandparents are Edna Goodson Barnes of Courtland, and the late Oliver Gordon Barnes.

The groom-to-be is the son of Dean and Pat Keeter of Courtland. His maternal grandparents were the late Walter R. and Louise S. Harrell, who lived in Como, N.C., and his paternal grandparents were the late Charles and Billie Keeter, who lived in Sedley.

Jessica is a 2007 graduate of Southampton High School. She graduated from Southampton Memorial School of Practical Nursing in 2010, and graduated from Paul D. Camp Community College with an associate’s degree in nursing in 2012. She is employed as a registered nurse in the Women’s Suite at Southampton Memorial Hospital in Franklin.

Charlie attended Southampton High School. He is employed at Ashland Hercules Water Technologies in Courtland.

The wedding is planned for Oct. 12, 2013, at Clay Hill Gardens, Yale.
