Jimmy and Lorie White of Franklin announce the engagement of their daughter, Teri Lynn, to David “Deke” Michael Joyner.

He is the son of David and Chrissy Joyner of Franklin.

The bride-to-be is the maternal granddaughter of Lily Darden and the late Samuel Darden, and paternal granddaughter of Joyce White, and Thomas White and Yvonne Cushing.

Her future husband is the maternal grandson of the late Charles and Ann Snyder, and paternal grandson of the late J.C. and Edith Joyner.

A 2006 graduate of Southampton High School, White received a bachelor’s degree in sociology in 2010 from Old Dominion University. She is the safety coordinator for Lee M. White Inc. in Franklin.

A 2003 graduate of Southampton High School, Joyner is an electrician for Georgia Pacific in Emporia.

The wedding is set for March 9, 2013, at Rock Church in Franklin.
