SA finishes regular season undefeated

COURTLAND—For the first time in his 21-year football coaching career with Southampton Academy, Dale Marks led the Raiders to an undefeated regular season.

SA on Friday night beat visiting Lawrence Academy 60-7 to take the Colonial Carolina Conference title. The 9-0 Raiders will host the No. 8 ranked Warriors again at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, in the first round of the conference playoffs.

Junior Raider Tonee Hill scored three touchdowns, including one on a 98-yard interception and rushed for 108 yards on four carries. Sophomore Nate Williams rushed 71 yards on five carries and a touchdown. Junior Cameron Hines carried the ball four times for 67 yards, including a 32-yard touchdown run.

The Raiders rushed 329 yards on 21 carries.

Sophomore quarterback Matt Rose completed 3 of 4 passes for 44 yards, including one for a 30-yard touchdown to senior Zachary Best. Rose also scored a touchdown on a 20-yard run.

Other highlights included Hill scoring touchdowns for 30 and 50 yards. Sophomore Ethan Edwards scored a touchdown on a 20-yard run.
