FRANKLIN—A Franklin teen scored two perfect games within a week at the Franklin Bowling Center.

Dylan Thomas, 18, rolled 12 back-to-back strikes on Sept. 20, and Sept. 27.

“I was pretty ecstatic,” he said. “I couldn’t believe it really. I didn’t really realize I had bowled it until a few days later, and then it hit me.”

His father, Kerry Thomas, witnessed the second perfect game.

“I’m proud of him,” he said. “He has done a real good job; he’s a good bowler. I know most people are glad to just get one 300-game; he got two in a week.”

A 2012 Southampton High School graduate, Dylan Thomas 10 years ago got his start in the bumper ball youth league.

He recently moved into the adult portion of the U.S. Bowling Congress league this year. The USBC is the national governing body for 10-pin bowling and has about 3,000 local associations serving more than two million members.

The 300 games only count if they are bowled during league events. Both of Thomas’ games counted.

“My goal now is to work towards a 900 series, which is three perfect 300 games in a series,” he said. “The closest I have gotten so far is a 781 and that was about two years ago.”

He is also the son of Darlene Thomas.
