Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wrenn of Chesterfield announce the engagement of their daughter, Brandy Michelle, to Ryan Mitchell Lowry.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Lowry of Bedford.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Henry and Rosetta Lankford Wrenn, who lived in Courtland. Her father grew up in Courtland.

The bride-to-be is a 2002 graduate of L.C. Bird High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. She earned her Project Management Professional certification, and is an engineering project manager for Alstom Power in Richmond.

Her fiancé is a 2002 graduate of Liberty High School and a 2006 graduate of George Mason University, with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He obtained a master’s degree in human resource management from the University of South Carolina, and is a human resource advisor for ExxonMobil in Fairfax.

The couple met in summer 2006 through a mutual friend.

A May 5 wedding is planned in Richmond.
