Ashley Eason and Keith Slaton, both of Goldsboro, N.C., have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Pauline Bumann and Pete Eason Jr., both of Jessup, Ga. She is the granddaughter of Juanita Eason of Jessup and the late Pete Eason and Frances and Theodore Bumann.
She graduated from Wayne County High School in Jessup in 2005 and received a nursing degree from the University of Georgia. She is an occupational health nurse for Smithfield Packing in Wilson, N.C.
Her fiancé is the son of Betty and David Slaton of Franklin and grandson of Kathleen and John Slaton of Henrico, N.C., Rossie Brock of Franklin and the late Betty Brock.
He graduated from Southampton Academy in 2002 and received a degree in paper and science engineering from North Carolina State University. He is the maintenance manager for Georgia Pacific in Dudley, N.C.
The couple plans to wed April 13, 2013.
