NEWPORT NEWS—The Isle of Wight Academy softball team churned out 23 hits in a 16-0 win Tuesday over Hampton Roads Academy.

Lady Charger Hailey Glover gave up two hits and had eight strikeouts in a five-inning game. The junior also went four-for-eight from the plate with three runs and three RBIs in the win.

Freshman leadoff hitter Bailey Key went three-for-five with a double and scored one run. Senior Kenzie Conner went three-for-five with two doubles and three runs, and junior Shelby Jurewicz went three-for-four with three RBIs in the win.

The Lady Chargers move to 2-0 on the year and play Williamsburg Christian at 4:30 p.m. today, March 23, in Isle of Wight.
