IWA baseball moves to 4-1 with win

ISLE OF WIGHT—Isle of Wight Academy rode hot hitting to defeat Bishop Sullivan Catholic 8-2 Tuesday.
Logan Wright (1-0) limited the Crusaders to three hits, allowing two runs and striking out nine.
The Chargers improved to 4-1.
Junior shortstop Hunter Triplett tied the game at one in the third inning with a leadoff solo home run.
IWA added three more runs in the fourth on a leadoff double by senior Taylor Gomer, RBI singles by Josh Thomas and Matthew Herrmann, and a sacrifice fly by Triplett, who finished the game three-for-four, scoring three runs and driving in two.
Thomas, Gomer and Michael McGuire were two-for-four.
IWA travels to Christchurch School at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22.
