ISLE OF WIGHT—Isle of Wight Academy senior baseball player Evan Chappell knocked in three runs with a fourth-inning double to help lead the Chargers to a 15-7 non-district win over Norfolk Christian on Thursday.

Senior Josh Thomas picked up the win, giving up five hits in four innings. Pitching one inning each were senior Matt Bratton and sophomore Travis Jones.

IWA junior Rainer Marfio went three-for-three at bat with two runs scored. Sophomore teammate Matt Herrmann was three-for-five.

The Chargers improved to 2-1 and on Friday played the season’s first league game against Portsmouth Christian. Results were not available as of press time.
