Mr. and Mrs. James H. Beale Jr. of Franklin announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Lynn, to Matthew Linwood Drake of Sunbeam.

The future bride is the granddaughter of Mary Ann Fountain and the late Mr. and Mrs. James H. Beale.
She is a 2002 graduate of Franklin High School, a 2006 graduate of Paul D. Camp Community College with an associate degree in nursing, and a 2008 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
She is an operating nurse at Southampton Memorial Hospital.
Her fiancé is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Franklin Drake Jr. and Mary Bulls. He is the grandson of Mary Pinner, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Franklin Drake, and the step-grandson of Marion Poole and the late Dick Poole.
He is a 2002 graduate of Southampton High School and works with Drake Farms.
An August wedding is planned.
After a Caribbean honeymoon, the couple will live on the Drake farm with their boxer, Cotton.
