FRANKLIN—Nearly 100 bowlers raised more than $18,000 for area charitable and non-profit organizations in Saturday’s Rotary Club of Franklin/Paul D. Camp Community College Regional Workforce Development Center Bowl-a-Thon at Franklin Bowling Center.

“This was one of our most exciting and successful fundraisers in recent years as we welcomed 19 teams and offered a $5,000 cash prize to a bowler scoring a perfect 300 game,” said Rotarian Michael Clark, who chaired the event. “While no bowler was that lucky, we had several who came close, which created a lot of excitement.

“I’d like to thank Paul D. Camp Community College and the Regional Workforce Development Center for their title sponsorship. They are a wonderful community partner. I’m eagerly looking forward to next year’s event as we have a number of exciting new features planned.”

Rotarians Walker Gillette and Elliott Whitfield and the Franklin Baptist Church youth group were honored for raising the most money for the event.

The Bobby’s Muffler team, consisting of Adam Cornwell, Jason Holloman, Kenny Edwards, David Gray and Dale Cornwell, was honored for High Team Set.

Holloman won the High Game  Male trophy after rolling a 269 in one game.

The High Set Male award went to Bob McDonald, who tied Edwards with a score of 661 over three games. Highest game score was used as the tiebreaker.

The High Set Female trophy went to Jennifer Sulin with a 643. Kathy Brown received the High Game Female award.
