Doyle named to First Team for third time

COURTLAND—Southampton High School senior Nick Doyle for a third time was named to the Southside District First Team.

Last year’s district Player of the Year, Doyle averaged 17 points per game this season, 5.8 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.8 steals. He scored 930 career points for the Indians at 14.7 points per game. He also had 332 career assists, or 5.3 per game. Doyle had eight career triple doubles.

In 2011, he was named to the Region I First Team and AA D3 All-State Team.

The district’s 2012 Player of the Year was Brunswick junior Brandon Stith, who averaged 19 points per game, 10 rebounds. 1.9 assists, 2.2 steals and 3.3 blocks.

Also for Southampton, Travon Ellis was named to the Second Team for the district and Jamal Johnson received Honorable Mention.
