Chowan men, women lose to VSU

ETTRICK—Down by two points at the half, the Chowan University Lady Hawks could not pump it up in the second half, losing 66-46 to host Virginia State University on Saturday.

For the Lady Hawks, Talaya Lynch led with 12 points and Ransheda Jennings added eight.

The Lady Hawks are No. 6 in the Northern Division of the CIAA with an overall record of 8-13.

In men’s action from Saturday, Virginia State came back in the final minutes to defeat Chowan 60-58.

Leading for the Hawks were Quinton McDuffie with 18 points, Kyree Bethel 13 and Chris Williams 11.

The Hawks are ranked No. 5 in the Northern Division of the CIAA with an overall record of 7-16.
