Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Johnson of Capron announce the engagement of their daughter, Sara Abigail, to Benjamin Matthew Crowder, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Crowder of Newsoms.

The bride-to-be is the maternal granddaughter of the late Fannie Pope Turner and David “Snooks” Turner and the paternal granddaughter of Lorene Johnson of Windsor and the late Raymond Johnson.

She received a bachelor’s of arts degree in music from UNC-Asheville and is employed by Edward Jones Investments in Franklin.

Her fiancé is the maternal grandson of Shelton and Betty Modlin of Franklin and the late Thomas Joyner, and the paternal grandson of the late Edward and Marie Crowder.

He graduated from New River Community College with a degree in instrumentation and control automation. He is employed by the state of Virginia as a certified electrician.

The couple will wed in June.
