Williams nets 18 points for IWA win

ISLE OF WIGHT—Amanda Williams scored 18 points during Isle of Wight Academy’s 61-24 win over Portsmouth Christian on Friday night.

Williams also had eight steals and five assists, while teammate Gabriella Hooper added 17 points, three assists, two steals and eight rebounds. Ally Van Campen had 14 points and seven rebounds. Van Campen went 7-for-10 from the field.

The Lady Chargers’ Brooke Olsavicky added seven points.

IWA improved to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the Metro Conference.

“The girls played a good game,” Coach Chris Hooper said. “We’ve played five games now, and they’re really growing up on the court.”

The Lady Chargers travel to Newport News to take on Denbigh Baptist at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6; Walsingham Academy at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7; and Stonebridge in Chesapeake at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8.
