Woman charged after wreck involving trooper

FRANKLIN—A Smithfield woman faces charges of driving under the influence and possession of marijuana after her vehicle hit a parked State Police car Sunday night.

Debra Jueneman was arrested after the 2010 Dodge Charger she was driving struck the vehicle of Trooper C.W. Amburgey at 11:46 p.m. on Route 258 east of Business Route 58 in Southampton County, according to State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya.

Amburgey’s vehicle was partially blocking the right travel lane and its emergency lights were activated while the trooper assisted in moving a disabled tractor-trailer out of the roadway.

Amburgey was transported to Southampton Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was treated and released.
