WINDSOR—Leslie Leroy Williams Jr., 67, of Windsor, Va., passed away June 6, 2011.

He was born in Pitt County, N.C., the son of Lillian Mae Byrd and the late Leslie L. Williams Sr.

He was a 1962 graduate of Whaleyville High School, where he was a star athlete and lettered in football and baseball.

He went on to serve as a staff sergeant in the Virginia National Guard.

Leslie was currently executive vice president of Blair Bros Inc., where he had worked for 25 years.

He was a past member of Southside Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon.

He was associated with Old Dominion Road Builders and The Virginia Asphalt Association.

Including his father, he was predeceased by his son, Bryan Todd Williams; daughter, Sonya Ree Williams; and sister, Pansie Lee Marsh.

He is s urvived by his mother; his wife, Sharon N. Williams; daughters, Tara Williams Moore and husband, Art, Leslie Le… Williams III, Angela B. Wright and Virginia L. BonDurant; grandchildren, Barrett Todd Moore, Bryan “Mitch” Moore and Carson Daniel Wright; brothers, Oliver Warren Williams, J.D. Baker (Carolyn); sisters, Peggy Joyce Weaver, Brenda Mae Dodson (Smokey); stepbrother, Floyd Raydell Byrd; stepsisters, Barbara Ann Brinkley and Shirley Faye Klages; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Leslie enjoyed working, playing cards, golfing, shag dancing, perusing flea markets and spending time with family, friends and his dogs.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends who he influenced throughout the years.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, June 9, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, Va., with Rev. Tom Holland officiating.

Burial will follow at Holland Cemetery.

Friends may join the family for a time of visitation prior to the service at the funeral home from noon to 2 p.m.
