2 IWA players make All-State

Isle of Wight eighth grader Bailey Key was named to the first team All-State team this year.

ISLE OF WIGHT—Isle of Wight’s state runner-up softball team placed two players on the Virginia Independent Schools Division III First Team All-State Team.
Sophomore pitcher Hailey Glover and eighth-grade shortstop Bailey Key made the top all-state team.
Glover, from Carrollton, went 10-2 overall and undefeated against Metro Conference competition as the Lady Chargers won the season and tournament titles in the Metro.
Glover had a 1.59 ERA.
Key, from Suffolk, hit .491 to lead the conference and totaled 21 runs and 19 RBIs.
Isle of Wight lost 5-0 to undefeated Kenston Forest in the state championship game.
