Alan Ray McCoy, 67, fought an amazing fight with brain cancer and went to be with the Lord on April 16, 2011. He was the son of the late Raymond W. and Margaret Brooks McCoy.

Alan was born on April 20, 1943. After graduating from Whaleyville High School, Alan worked for Union Camp Paper Mill in Franklin, Virginia for 35 years. Following his retirement he consulted for Leripa Paper Tech.

With their love of the outdoors, Alan and his wife Mitzi built their dream home on Lake Speight. It is here they made many happy memories with their beloved pets: Maggie, Dakota, and Petunia.

Alan is survived by his wife, Mitzi Austin McCoy; his sons Kenneth McCoy and spouse, Nicole, and Alan McCoy and spouse, Shelly; his grandchildren Caitlin Brook and Noel Constance McCoy and Jacob, Caleb, Katie, and Conner McCoy; and a host of family and friends.
