ISLE OF WIGHT—Windsor High School girls’ basketball team scored a modern-day, high of 61 points during its Wednesday night loss to Isle of Wight Academy.

“It was the most points we scored in the last four years,” said Lady Dukes Coach Holly Andreski.

Isle of Wight Academy defeated Windsor 77-61.

Windsor sophomore Leah Dreps led with 13 points. Teammates, freshman Tierra Rawls and sophomore Curneshia Waters, added 10 each. Waters led in rebounds with 9.

Scoring 3-pointers for Windsor was Rawls with 3. Dreps and freshman Macayla Servais added 1 apiece.

Windsor scored 32 points in the fourth quarter.

“We came alive,” Andreski said, who was pleased with the girls’ first game of the season.

“I thought they did a fantastic job,” she said. “They hustled, they were aggressive, and they never gave up.”

Andreski looks forward to a better season than 2009-2010, when the Lady Dukes won one game.

“We have a young team and a lot of promising players,” she said.
