Glenn and Carolyn Crowder of Newsoms announce the engagement of their daughter, Madison Marie Crowder, to Kevin Martinez Bocanegra of Suffolk.

The bride-to-be’s grandparents are Antnette Harrell of Suffolk and the late Robert L. Harrell Sr. and the late Edward T. and Lena Marie Crowder.
A 2007 graduate of Southampton High School, she will graduate in May from Longwood University with a liberal studies degree in elementary education.
Her fiancé is the son of Jose and Cindy Bocanegra of Suffolk. His grandparents are Darrell and Phyllis Graham of Newport News and Cal and Ellyn Hamren of Arizona.
A 2007 graduate of Smithfield High School, he will graduate from Virginia Military Institute in May with a business and economics degree. He will be commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force in May.
The couple plan to be married in August 2011.
