Mary R. Rooks
HOPEWELL—Mary Rochelle Rooks, 74, formerly of Courtland, died Nov. 5, 2008, at the John Randolph Medical Center.
She was born in Southampton County to the late Elmer Urguhart and Emma Epps on April 9, 1934.
Survivors include three sons, Bennie Rooks (Glenice) of Courtland, Calvin Rooks (Elenor) of Landsdown, Pa. And Waylon Rooks (Maranda) of Richmond; one daughter, Linda Walton (Joel) of Hopewell; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Galilee Baptist Church, Branchville, with the Rev. Willie Diggs officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
