DREWRYVILLE — Stanley Thomas “Stan” Mattox, 68, passed away Aug. 2, 2020, in his home.

He was a native of Southampton County and a son of the late Percy Jacob “PJ” Mattox and Minnie Cobb Mattox and was also predeceased by a brother, Jerry Mattox.
Stan was a former member of Drewryville Volunteer Fire Deparment and a lifetime member of Applewhite Swamp Hunt Club.
He is survived by his daughter, Patti Sadler Bales (Wesley) of Capron; his son, Marty Mattox (Sherry Gray) of Brunswick County; a sister Becky Ferrell of Franklin; a sister-in-law, Kim Mattox; four grandchildren, Daniel Mattox, Emily Mattox, Jacob Bales and Brennen Bales; and several nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, in the Drewryville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Drewryville Volunteer Fire Department.
