Learning of Shelton Muhammad and his family’s business in Boykins warms us in knowing that they are dedicated to the area where they live. The Muhammads put down roots both in where they reside and by creating the Our Community Farmers Market in downtown Boykins.

The family sells fresh quality seasonable produce as it becomes available. They’re not content with fresh fruits and vegetables. Breads, soups and pies are also on the menu.

The ambition is to eventually add fresh fish, meats and canned foods.

All this enables residents to buy not only locally grown healthy produce, but also they can reduce their drive time to larger grocery stores.

We wish the Muhammads the best, and urge people to frequent their store. This business is yet another example of how patronizing a local business benefits everyone.
