Capron Elementary observes Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco and other drug and violence awareness campaign observed annually in October in the United States. This began as a tribute to fallen DEA special agent Enrique Camerena in 1985. According to the United States DEA, Red Ribbon Week in the nation’s largest and longest-running drug awareness and prevention program. Above, Capron Elementary School’s students and staff wore red in observance of Red Ribbon Week under the direction of the guidance counselor, Wendi Simmons.
