WAVERLY — Elizabeth “Betsy” Bobbitt Nicholson, 77, widow of Stuart Forrest Nicholson, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019.

She was the daughter of the late Sallie Rogers Bobbitt and Linwood Derby Bobbitt, and was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Bobbitt Jarratt and husband, J.B.; and brother, Linwood Turman Bobbitt and wife, Freida.

Mrs. Nicholson was a lifetime member of Sharon United Methodist Church where she participated in all activities leading by example and helping wherever she could. A true homemaker, she was a loving mother and grandmother and worked tirelessly to assist in any way she could and keep her family together.

Betsy is survived by her daughter, Debbie N. Dunn and husband, Woody, of Yale; sons, Ed Nicholson and wife, Karen of Hurricane, West Virginia; and David W. Nicholson of Windsor; special children, Curt Bobbitt and wife, Kathy Sue, of Bakersfield, California; Cathy Bobbitt of Virginia Beach; Susan Creed of Yale; and Judy Harrell and husband, Chris, also of Yale; grandchildren, Joshua Nicholson and friend, Cheryl; Ashley Nicholson; Marshall Dunn and wife, Holly; Ryan Dunn; Phillip Nicholson and fiancée, Jessica; and Stuart Nicholson; two great-grandchildren, Leanna Dunn and Emma Gayle Nicholson; brother-in-law, Ronnie Nicholson and wife, Kay; and sister-in-law, Ann Tomko and husband, Jimmy.

The memorial service was held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, in Sharon United Methodist Church, Yale. Interment will be private.
