FRANKLIN

Although the tornado warning that was in effect from approximately 7:15 to 8 p.m. has passed, the National Weather Service still has a tornado watch until midnight for the cities of Franklin and Suffolk, as well as eastern Southampton County, and southwestern Isle of Wight County.

A flash flood watch remains in effect until 4 a.m. on Saturday, April 20.

Meanwhile, severe thunderstorms and breezy conditions remain. Winds could range rfom 14 to 20 mph with gusts as high as 30 mph. New rainfall amounts could range from a half to three quarters.

For Saturday, showers are likely before 8 a.m., then gradual clearing to become sunny with a high near 71. Winds at 13 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Skies are forecast to become cloudy that night.

The NWS added to its forecase that there’s a slight change of rain after 2 p.m. on Sunday, then becoming partly sunnt with highs near 66.
