Vote for new leadership in council

To the Editor:

The voters of Wards 3 and 5 on May 1 have the opportunity to install two well-qualified, intelligent and talented young women who really care for the citizens of this city.

They have the sensibility to be able to disagree without being disagreeable.

It is well past time to change the Ward 3 Representative who has been feeding at the trough of the Franklin taxpayers, and doing nothing but creating chaos for the last eight years. His yard signs say that he is true to the people, however I find that hard to believe when he fought tooth-and-nail against the Madison Street Revitalization project, even to the point of allegedly causing some citizens not to apply, then he decides to apply for the program himself.

He is also trying very hard to get one of his close friends, Ricky Sykes, on council so that he can build a coalition of followers that he can control.

If these two are elected, this city Council will have to face a chaotic four years.

I urge the citizens of Ward 3 to go out and vote for Andrea Hall-Leonard, and Ward 5 for Wynndolyn Hillard-Copeland.

William H. Rose Sr.
