FRANKLIN — Mary Frances Gehl Eckenrode, 92, passed away on Oct. 15, 2017, in the East Pavilion.

Mrs. Eckenrode was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to the late Anthony Joseph and Frances Mary Adams Gehl. Mr. and Mrs. Eckenrode were formerly of Waynesboro, Virginia.
She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Quilters Group, enjoyed painting and making Father Christmases.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, James A. Eckenrode; four daughters, Barbara Schaefer, Frances M. Eckenrode, Maria Sing (Calvin) and Margaret Sorenson; one son, James P. Eckenrode (Kim); seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, in St. Jude Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Saglio officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Spring Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home.
