COURTLAND — John Eston Greene, 77, passed away on Nov. 27, 2016, in Southside Regional Medical Center.

John was a native of Louisa County, Virginia, and was a son of the late Arthur C. Greene and Emma Frances Ward Greene. He was also predeceased by a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Greene.

John was a U.S. Army veteran, and he retired from Lowes as a manager, and was a master woodworker.

Left to cherish his memory is are his wife of 58-1/2 years, Faye Carter Greene; two daughters, Darlene Jones (Tommy) of Trappe, Maryland; and Melissa Overstreet (Rob) of Franklin; one son, John E. “Butch” Greene Jr of Irmo, South Carolina; four sisters, Lois Faulkner, Joyce Donovan, Doris Tuttle and Carolyn Snelson; one brother, Russell Greene; and seven grandchildren, Krystle Powers, Brittany Powers, Becky Greene, Jessica Greene, Chelsea Overstreet, Hannah Overstreet and Austin Overstreet.

The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, in Black Creek Baptist Church, 34163 Vicksville Road, Franklin, with the Rev. Hoyle Green officiating.

A reception will be in the fellowship hall following the service.
