FRANKLIN – Emily Loretta Simms, 77, passed away June 20, 2025 in East Pavilion. Born in Franklin and a former resident of Ivor, she was a daughter of the late George Thomas Babb and Jane Turner Babb. She was also predeceased by her husband, Sidney Roscoe Simms; a son, Rodney Scott Simms; and two brothers, Paul Thomas Babb and George Allen Babb.

Emily was a graduate of Southampton High School and a member of Ivor United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish her memory is a son, Lance Simms and his wife, Amy; two grandchildren, Brendan Simms and Bryce Simms; and two sisters, Rose B. Rose and Hilda B. Edwards (Marvin).
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 27 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Sharon Spivey officiating.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Village at Woods Edge for their loving care.
