Southampton County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) reported Friday, May 23, that an Emporia man was arrested earlier in the week in the Drewryville area for allegedly soliciting a minor. 

An SCSO news release noted that deputies responded to the 7200 block of Southampton Parkway on Wednesday, May 21, in reference to the reported solicitation of a minor. SCSO officials stated that the purported offender, Clarence Lee, of Emporia, allegedly solicited a 16-year-old minor. 

One warrant for violation of the Code of Virginia 18.2-346.01 (soliciting a minor) was obtained and served on Lee, the release stated.

“Clarence Lee is still currently in custody at the Southampton County Jail, and his court date is currently pending,” SCSO officials stated Friday afternoon, May 23.
