CARRSVILLE – Joyce Verlo McNamara, 75, passed away May 11, 2025 in Southampton Memorial Hospital. Born in North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Mack and Molly Butts Cherry.
Joyce was a hairstylist and a world class billiard player.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 28 years, John David McNamara; a daughter, Tammy Rhea; two sons, Gene and Mack Copeland; a sister, Brenda Kennedy; two brothers, Gilbert Cherry and Carlton “Peanut” Cherry; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 15 in Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. Steve Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. in the funeral home prior to the service.
